Pilates is a gentle effective form of exercise started by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. It can be practiced by people of all ages and fitness.


By strengthen the core muscles and toning the whole body Pilates is beneficial in improving posture and is effective at helping treat back pain and recover from back injuries, surgery and pregnancy


At Weardale Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic we are able to provide small classes to suit all abilities in our relaxing studio.


Both Suzy and Clare are HCPC registered chartered physiotherapists who have completed the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute (APPI) mat-work levels 1,2 and 3 training.  

We also have Suzanna, a pilates instructor working with us too.


We can use this experience to tailor exercises to your specific needs and ensure you are performing them to the optimal level, preventing any injuries and ensuring you get the most out of the classes.


Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move in. These classes include mat-work so if you stuggle to get on/ off the floor please let us know so we can provide you with an appropriate class/ exercise programme.
